Sydney, to-day. An intercolonial cricket match, New South Wales v. Victoria, was commenced yesterday. The visitors going first to the wicket compiled the small acore of 01 runs of which Trimble contributed 27. The Home team then went in and at the close of the clay had lost 3 wicket 3 for 40 funs, of which McDonnell made 25. The match was resumed this morning. A recent Sydney wire says: — "Hutchens has run 50 yards in 5 three-6fths sees." A bluckfellow on a Queensland station vaulted lOff. llin at station sports. In a match at Putney between a local club ;md one from St. John'3-wood, the umpire for the latter club had occasion to repeatedly 'nn ball ' one of the Putney bowlers for going over tho crease. A t last the Putneyite — n powerful young fellow, big enough to make two of tho umpire — addressing the latter, said, "How dare you no-ball me ? Don't you know I played in the Surrey colts?" " Can'c help that," was the reply, " If you will go over I shall call 'em." "■Well," rejoined the irate bowler, "If you call no-bail again I'll punch your head." The umpire did call * no-ball ' 'again, and tho Putneyite did punch his head.
