There waa very little betting after the Cup acceptances appeared prices being : — 5 to 1 Spade Guinea, 100 to 18 Nelson, 100 to 12 Lochiel ami Disowned, lOOto 8 Hermitage, andKubina, 100 to 7, Fair Nell, Titbit, and Itepo, 100 to 0 Torrent, Derwenter, tuid Beresford, 100 to 5, Patrician, Puck, and La Rosi>, 100 to 4 Leon and Apropos, 100 to :3, St. Ivcs and Quibble, 100 to 2 Wild Drake. The absonco of Lochiel from the other events lends color to the rumor of his going to Australia, and sums backers will gladly lay longor than the quoted price. Tho absence of all the North Island horses in the Cup is attributed to Nelson having frightened them off. Through Pasha being nominated for all the other events, it scarcely looks as if the son of Mute is to be absent from the moeting.
