. + 1 Melbourne, Dec. 2. A dispute in the clothing trade is threatened by the pressers demanding that weekly wages be abolished in favor of ) piece work. If the employers resist the demand it will stop their factories, and throw between 1,000 and 2,000 hands out of work. Messrs Beath, Schiess and Co. will probably be tirsb attacked. The pressers have already made their demand, which the firm are likely to resist. Nothing definite will be known till Mon- [ day.
