The Earl c f Jersey and Mr Donald Lamach have been appointed vice presidents of the Gold Standard Defence Association. FRANCE'S RELATIONS WITH THE VATICAN. Paris, July 15. The Chamber of Deputies, by a majority of 100, rejected a motion by M. Goblet, leader of the Socialist Radicals, to break the Concordat, disestablish the Church, and stop the clergy’s agitation with respect to the death duties. M. Poincare, Minister for Public Instruction said the Government would compel respect for the Concordat without reference to the Vatican.
