WAITOTARA.

Nothing of importance has transpired bore since the trouble between the railway constructors and special constables. Tlie four distinguished rowdies passed through yesterday afternoon on their way to Wanganui, in a special coach, with body guard kindly provided by a paternal government. They seemed to be objects of curiosity to the inhabitants of tin's erstwhile mild and peaceful township, while the party were “ doing tv beer ” at the scene of their late exploits. Tim Railway Commissioners also passed through here a few clays ago, in a special coach, but without any guard of honour, although the Waverlcy people had the honour of doing without their daily coach and mails for a day or two in consequence. This was all wo got by their visit. Some very heavy 7 rain has fallen here lately 1 ', but as the various drains have been, cleared out within the past week or two, very little harm lias been done by the surface water. Diphtheria has not 3’et found its way among us. We have not heard of even a severe cold or sore throat. May it continue so 1
