THE USE OF WHOLEMEAL The Pahiatua Dental Clinic contributed the following recipes in which the nutritional value is increased by ths use of wholemeal: WHOLEMEAU BISCUITS i lb butter 3 ox flour 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 egg 3 oz w r holemeal 1 cup chopped dates Vanilla Cream butter and sugar, add egg and flavouring, add sifted flour and baking powder. then dates and wholemeal. Bake about 10 minutes in good oven. WHOLE MEAL SCONE'S 2 cups wholemeal flour 1 teaspoon soda 2 teaspoons cream of tarter 1 teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons sugar 2 or 3 ozs butter Rub butter into flour etc. Mix rather slack with milk. Bake in a hot oven about 10 minutes.
