At tlie launching of seven warships at Houston (Texas) Colonel Frank Knox declared that the United States after the war must maintain control of the seas in th© interests of peace. The ceremony, which lasted all clay, was climaxed with the presentation of war bond certificates for 70,000,000 dollars subscribed by the Houston peopl© to pay fay the new cruiser Houston to replace the original lost in the Java Sea battle.
