P.. said that the subsidisation of internal troubles in various countries was the newest form of warfare and one which was becoming increasingly popular The fear- had been expressed, said Mr Howard, that Tf Signor Mussolini and Herr Hitler succeed in heating the Spanish Government their eyes will turn next to Czechoslovakia. None of the people of Europe wanted war. Everywhere the people seemed content. England was in a, happy condition. Mr Schramm said that in France he found, a feeling of, great internal tension.. Germany, on the other hand, seemed to be quiet and settled, and tlier was a strong pro-British attitude among tho people.
