BODY IN HARBOUR.
ELDERLY MAN DROWNED. The fully-clad body of Mr John Joseph Poland, an. old-age pensioner. 31 Vivian Street, Wellington, was found floating in the water between Clyde Quay Wharf and the boat harbour at 10.40 a.m. yesterday. It is unknown how Air Poland came to be in the harbour, but it is surmised that he had not been there any great length of time as there was a copy or Saturday’s paper in one of his pockets. With the aid of a drag-hook a police officer was able to bring the body ashore. An inquest will be held
