YOUNG MAN IN TROUBLE. ElcctrC Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. September 26. A hotel guest who booked in at an Auckland hotel yesterday as Miss .Patricia . iiaxen-haired and wearing a smart brov n costume, high-heeled shoes and the etceteras of a smartly-dn - ed woman, was arrested the. morning and, it is understood, at the police station later .-hanged into male attire. A young man will appear in the Police Court on Monday on a charge of Unlawfully i - own use at Wanganui a motor-car valued at £230. it is understood that the guest arrived at the hotel carrying a bunch ■of drooping freoias. and subsequently kept the door of the bedroom locked This morning a housemaid entered bv using a master key. The guest was absent, hut parts ot the room, were covered with* powder. Later Detectives Hayes and Wilson, inquired of the proprietor if he had soon any signs of a. young man masquerading as a woman. He replied. ‘"‘Yes, I think T can take you to ‘her’ right nwav.” When the detectives approached “her” on the- back stairs, asking, “Are you Aliss Patricia. —y” the reply came in. a somewhat deeu voice, “Yes. T am.” After inquiries in the room an arrest was made. Tin* guest left the .hotel dressed as a woman.
