CORRESPONDENCE.

(Correspondence is welcomed on interesting subjects, but we do not necessarily endorse the opinions of correspondents) (To the Editor.l Sir, —The Pahiatua A. and P. Association is holding its annual show on Friday, 14th instant, and it always should be an occasion for a pleasant meeting of town and country folk. One of the objects of our Association is to promote this friendly co-operation and we do urg© all country and town residents to support the show whole-heartedly. After all, many of us get thoroughly bored with shows, but then are we being fair to those energetic committeemen who strive might and main to bring about success for their offoi*ts which undoubtedly create interest in the whole district. Even local farmers fail to give practical support either by becoming members of £he Association or exhibiting their stock. The Association needs all the practical support it can get to keep alive, and it behoves every farmer whether in a big way or small to pause and consider his obvious duty towards this deserving A. and P. Association. And not only does the show depend for its success upon the farmers. The town residents, too, have their duty in keeping alive interests which are not only beneficial to the town but the district as a whole. Each and every town resident should make a point of attending the show, if only as a gesture of appreciation of the good work of the organisers. Lots will be found there to interest a town dweller and the opportunity of meeting country friends in the precincts of Carnival Park is rarely presented. And while on the subject of Carnival Park, even though it received a slight battering from the recent storm, yet it will still <furnish pleasure for all, and the opportunity of visiting it should be taken by everyone. Our Association is at present going into ways and means of providing better facilities for campers and children, and with the general support of this scheme we hope for when it is launched, it will bo possible to have facilities for show attenders in 1937 second to none in New Z ea l a nd. We therefore make this universal appeal to everyone in town and country to give whole-hearted support on Friday next to the Pahiatua A. and P. Association.—We are. etc., PAHIATUA DISTRICT PRO- (. RESSI'VE ASSOCI ATION.
