HOW TO ill FAT THEM. Diamonds: Wash in warm, soapy wafer ; or dip m e.'.u do U« login- sevmai time, for a very blight polish. Emeralds sapphires and rubies; Wash in warm, soapy water, and dry with tissue paper. Pearls: Never wash. Tf dusty, polish w ith tissue paper. Pearls should be worn as much, as |x>ssib!e, of course, and restrung at least twice a year. Silver and gold: Jewellers’ rouge will give the best polish ; or, wash in soap and water and polish with chamois. Filigree work: Wash in warm water and a little ammonia. Polish with leather. Paste ornaments ; Soapy water and a soft brush will make them like new. Rinse ir. cold water and lenvo to dry.
