ENGLAND’S DEFENCE PROGRAMME.
FINANCED BY TREASURY. (Received. 1 p.m.) United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. February G. The Daily Telegraph’s political correspondent says the Treasury is- definitely opposed to a flotation of a loan, to finance the Government's defence programme as it considers it can. be adequately financed by means of Treasury Bills without heavy additional expenditure at least during the current financial year. Cabinet next week will consider the finalised plans for the ministerial committee which is investigating the requirements of the three services for the estimates. The total cost of defence schemes ranges from £ 150.000.000 to £350.000,000.
