AN EASY WIN.
M.C.C, V. RANGITIKEI. COUNTY SIDE OUT FOR 47. Eleotriq Telegraph—Press Association MARTON, Last Night. In dull weather, which later yielded to brilliant sunshine, M.C.C. played Rangitikei, the tourists winning the toss and having first use of a good wicket. Their first innings yielded 248, which occupied three and three-quarter hours. The Rangitikei batsmen failed, the dismissal of T. Lowry, the exNew Zealand skipper, Hoclder, Cameron and J. Marshall being disastrous and unexpected. The innings lasted only 77 minutes. Lyttelton, the acting-skipper of the M.C.C. team, sportingly decided not to force a follow-on, and at dumps, after 20 minutes’ play, M.C.C. had scored 25 for two wickets. The fall of the wickets best illustrates the Rangitikei collapse: One for 0, two for 2, three for four, four for 6, five for 13, six for 18, seven for 32, eight for 36, nine for 45.
