SWIMMERS IN COMPETITION.

LAST NIGHT'S FIXTURE. The Pahiatua Swimming Club held an introductory local club night in the baths last night, when there was a good attendance of enthusiasts who were treated to an interesting night’s sport. The pleasing part of the fixture was the good form shown by the juvenile swimmers notably the girls, of whom the Britland twins and Peggy Gunn were outstanding. The men's 100 yards event was a fine race and the performance of the back-markers who next week are competing in the champ ion."hips at the Central Baths in Palmerston North was a meritorious one. The men’s diving was somewhat disappointing, but the youngsters performed very creditably and gave the judges something to ponder over Results are detailed below:— Girls’ lb years and under: Ist heat May Britland 1, Myra Moore 2. 2nd heat: Jean Britland, Peggy Gunn 2.
