MINIMUM RATES OF PAY.
DENIAL BY HON ARMSTRONG. Electric Telegraph—-Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A denial that the Government has .decided on a minimum wage on Public Works jobs was made by the Minister of Labour, Hon. H. T Armstrong. Hon. Armstrong's attention was drawn to a statement by Mr Lark, secretary of the Auckland Unemployed Workers’ Association, that Hon. Seanple bad promised a minimum wage of 14s Sd daily. “The Government has not decided on any minimum wage at all.” declared Hon. Armstrong, “and neither has Mr Semple.” Mr Ai:nstrong added that lie woaiid be going to Auckland next week.
