DO WELL AT AUCKLAND TENNIS.

'Pbe Auckland Lawn Tennis Association’s jubilee tourney was concluded in fine weather. Visiting players met with a good deal of success, E. H. Andrews and the Wellington contingent being particularly prominent. Andrews, formerly of Palmerston North, but now mostly resident in England, won the men’s singles and in conjunction with N. G. Sturt, gained the men’s doubles. Miss D Xicholls (Wellington) was even more successful as besides winning the ladies’ singles championship she shared honours in both ladies’ and combined doubles. Another triple success was gained by Miss M Beverley. of Mata m a ta.. She won both the junior and intermediate singles and with S. Hooper (Palmerston North) won the intermediate combined doubles. The results of the finals of the principal events were:— Men’s singles: E. H. Andrews beat N. G. Sturt. 2—6, 0-—4, 6—3. 6—3

Ladies' singles: Miss H. Xicholls beat Miss J. Ranisav. 4—6. 6—o 6—o. Men’s doubles: E. D. Andrews and N. G. Sturt beat D. O. Coombe and K. Dyer, I—6. 6—o, 6—3, 6—3. Ladies’ doubles: Miss D. Nicliolls and Mrs W. *7. Melody hint Misses M. Macfarlane and R Taylor, 6—2.

Combined doubles: H. C\ Ooombc and Miss I>. Nicliolls beat E. D. Andrew. and Miss X. Reverb‘v, 6—2 6—3.
