BRAZILIAN DECORATION. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 29. Mr J. E. Barron, Consul-General in Australia for Brazil, has received a copy of his Government’s gazette which announces that the President has conferred on Miss Jean Batten the Order of the Southern Cross of Brazil. Miss Batten is an officer of the Order, which is usually conferred on diplomats and distinguished visitors. She is the first woman to receive the honour.
