HOME SECRETARY’S DISCLOSURE.
HISTORIC PRIVY MEETING. United Press Assn.—Jßy Electric T e leg ra ph—Co py r i gh t. LONDON. January 24. Wit-li King Edward’s permission Sir John Simon, the Memo Secretary has disclosed another poignant incident during King George's last Privy Co uiic i 1 meeting. Ho said that the Archbishop of Canterbury’s description of the scene showed his Majesty’s sense of duty in controlling all his actions to the end. This incident illustrated another of the King’s lifelong characteristics, namely, in invariable consideration for others, even in the smallest things. After a pguse, during which the King wa s malting those gallant but pathetic efforts to sign his name, he turned to the councillors and said very quietly and simply : - I am .so sorry to keep you waiting like this.’’ “Those were the last words I heard him utter,” said Sir John, “though as we withdrew lie turned and gave each a kindly little smile and nod wherewith he was accustomed to end an audience.”
