TE AUTE HOTEL DESTROYED.
EARLY MORNING BLAZE. Electric Telegraph—lress Association HASTINGS, This Day. The TeAute Hotel, a familiar reminder of, the early coaching days, was totally destroyed by fire at three o’clock yesterday n ■■corning. The greater proportion of the.- building was wooden and was very old. and nothing could he done to save it. By five o'clock only the chimneys remained standing. The hotel was occupied by the owner. Mr Charles Hart, hi* wife and son. and a small staff. There wore no boarders. The occupants had to make a hurried e-cape, and saved none of their personal effects The Waipawa police are investigating the cause, which at pro: <nt is unknown. No insurances are available
