THE LATE MR. FRANK BROWN.
BURIAL SERVICE ON SUNDAY. The funeral of the late Mr Frank Brown took place 011 Sunday afternoon when a large cortege iollowed the deceased gentleman’s remains to the Pahiatua Cemetery. The pall-bearer* were Messrs. E. Brown. J. Nelson. I. Priest, H. Cotter. R. Cotter and R. Tocker, and the graveside service was. conducted by Air R. McKenzie who was deputising for Rev. Warren. The late Mi Brown, who was horn at Lower Hutt in 1878 and was the fourth, son of Air and Airs C. W. Brown, took up his residence in Petone for some years. In 1910 he siiiftcd into the Bush district, where he engaged in farming for some years, till lie purchased the property at Tutaekara. Konini. He married ir 1913. a daughter of Air and Airs A. H. Cresswell. of AVal.dergrave St., Palmerston North.
Air Brown had been in very indefferent dealth for about 14 years, but his death while on holiday with Airs Brown at Whakatane was a terrible shock.
For years lie was 7citron of the Konini Rifle Club and had been president of the Tennis Chib for some years. He had always interested firmself in the doings oh.the younger set and could ever he relied on to give a helping hand to any movement for promoting social life alid interest in the commuD ity.
Always a generous man broadminded and thoughtful. In- was an hospitable settler and had «* ready welcome at his homestead for a wide circle of friends. Air Brown is survived by ;i widow and four daughters -Misses Zilla. Lexie, Alerle and Wray) and two sons, Messrs. Copeland and. Earl).
