MANSON AND BARR CUP BOWLS.
PAHIATUA HOLD LEVIN OFF. On Saturday afternoon the Levin bowlers sent a rink to Pahiatua to play a challenge for the Alanson and Barr Cup, and after a most interesting game the local side retained the trophy. Pahiatua began very well and on the eleventh head were leading 16 to 7. The tea adjournment was then taken, and this apparently put more life into the visitors, who scored nine in the next nine heads. Pahiatua's early lead stood them in good stead and after adding several odd points they took the last head for one to win by 21—16’. The rinks were:—Pahiatua: Coldicutt, P. Walsh, Petersen and Kershaw (s). Levin: Challies, Leversedge, Brown and Walker (s). The visitors were hospitably entertained by the Pahiatua club during the afternoon.
