SEQUEL TO FATAL COLLISION.
DRIVER COMMITTED FOR TRIAL
Electric Telegraph—tress Association DUNEDIN, Last Night. The sequel to a collision between a motor-car and cycle which occurred at the intersection of the lower Octagon and Stuart street on the evening of April 20 and which resulted in the death of a 13-year-old boy, was heard in the city Police Court today when Edward Richard Quin, driver of the car, appeared before Mr J. R. Bartholomew, S.M., on charges of having negligently driven a motor-car and caused the death of Ronald Stuart Erridge, and with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor vehicle and by act or omission causing the death of Erridge. The inquest oil the body of deceased was taken concurrently with the Court proceedings Accused pleaded not guilty, and lese.rvimr his defence, was committed to the Supreme Court for trial on both charges. Bail was allowed m self £'2oo and two sureties of £IOO each on the first count, and on the second in accused’s own iecognisance conditional on his reporting twice weekly to the police The inquest proceedings were adjourned till to-morrow morning.
