WOMEN’S DIVISION.
The usual monthly meeting of the Women’s Division was held in the County Council Chambers on Tuesday. The president (Mrs J. D. Piper) presided over a good attendance of members. After the customary opening all business matters were dealt with. A motion of sympathy was passed to Mrs T. Alexted and family in their recent bereavement, all members standing in silence for a few moments. Two letters of thanks were received by the Division for help given during the past month in necessitous cases. The December and January numbers of the New Zealand Countrywoman were distributed amongst the members. A dainty afternoon tea brought the meeting to a close.
