ART UNION.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association HAMILTON, February 7. The winner of the second prize in the art union is Mr G. T. Martin, a married man, with no children. He is an employee of the Railways Department at Frankton Junction. Mr and Mrs Martin were formerly of Wellington and have been here for three years. It has heen their practice to purchase a ticket. On the last occasion Mrs Martin went into towm on the date of the closing, and not having the money on her secured a ticket for which she paid three days later. The couple were overjoyed when* told of their good fortune.
Subscribing themselves as "Optimists,” holders’ hopes were realised rather wonderfully, as the ticket which won the £SOO also won a £5 prize, which is <« very unusual turn of luck. One other remarkable incident in connection with the drawing was that the first and second prize marbles were drawn from the box bv successive tickets.
