BOOT STORE FIRE.
d;600 DAMAGE AT AUCKLAND. Electric Telegraph—Press Association ATCKCAND, February 7. Damage estimated a.t £6OO was done by fire wliich broke out earJy this morning in a city boot store m Karangahape Road. Firemen used a door-forcing device and a sledgehammer to open the front door, which bad been recently strengthened against burglars, -and in live minutes from the time the alarm was given had two leads playing on the flames. Other stock on the shelves was undamaged. The stock was insured with Lloyd’s.
