CAR ROLLS DOWN A BANK

Joyce Irene Thomas. aged four years, daughter of Air Llewel!vn Thomas, of Remuera, Auckland died on admission to the Waikato Hospital from injuries received when a car capsized an-1 rolled down a hank on the Great South Road, near Hamilton. this morning. Her mother. Ivv Doris Thomas, aged 30 and Keith Raymond Thomas, aged 7. were admitted to hospital ~ suffering from shock and minor injuries. TRAIN ACCIDENT AIAN SERIOUSLY INJURED. John Alontague, of Invercargill, was found unconscious lying beside the line near Seadown. seveiT miles north of Timaru. by the driver of this morning’s special train returning from Christchurch to Invercargill alter the Ranfurly Shield ganu- and which passed here at 2 a.m. The injured man was taken on to Temuka and transferred by ambulance to the Timaru hospital, where lie lies in a serious condition, suffering from shock, collapse and a dislocated shoulder. Owing to Alontague's condition ’t is impossible to ascertain how the ad c-ident happened, hut he must have fallen unnoticed from the train and lain lieside the track all night thj'ough lx degrees of frost.
