Major Elliot, speaking at a- fete at Hawick, saicl that the Ministry 7 .*? recent statement meant there would be a reduction of imports of upwards of 20,000 tons of frozen and chilled beef compared with the last quarter of 1932. This virtual suspension would release New Zealand irozen beef and meant a reduction approaching 8000 tons.
