QUEENSLAND’S PREMIER JOCKEY KILLED.
. BRISBANE, August 20. At the Ascot races yesterday three horses fell in the AVelter Handicap. A. Goddard, leading jockey, died from a severely fractured skull S Bennett, another jockey, was renclerea unconscious. At an inquiry several jockeys expressed the opinion that Goddard on Lizard tried to force a passage jvhen there was insufficient room. His mount fell, bringing down High v*°iu and Commandant.
