SCHOOL COMMITTEES.
METHOD OF ERECTION
Electric Telegraph—Press Association Wellington, Last Night.
Regarding the suggestion made by the East Christchurch School Committee, that the interest of householders in school matters would be stimulated, if nominations were received at the meeting. Hon. C. J. Parr has replied, stating that, from experience, it was found that in some districts, it was impossible to take a poll under the- old «onditions, and the Government had been urged not only to take nominations beforehand, but to take a poll of urban areas during the day, and he could not see his way to revert to the previous practice of receiving nominations on the dav of the meeting.
