The Flora's long tow ol 2228 miles to Auckland proved uneventful Her repairs when the Mapourika arrived, but- in order not to strain the repaiis too much it was deeid«*d that the Mapourika should tow her, while the Flora ustd her own steam. « Fhe vessels left Papeete on May lHtlg and four days out encountered a moderate gale and heavy seas. The Inst day s run was 185 miles. A strung sea was running until nearing the New Zea'aiul coast but the tow rope did not part.
