The Masterton show opened to-day in ideal weather and with a large attendance. The following championships were awarded: Lincoln ram: H. Gaisford’s (Hawke’s Bay). Lincoln ewe: Bland Raynors. English Leicester ram and ewe, S. R. Lancaster’s (Palmerston). Border Leicester ram and ewe: .T. .V. Welch’s. Romney Marsh ram and ewe ; IV. Perry’s. Southdown ram : J. Knight's (Feilding). Southdown ewe; Redmond VermVs (Hastings). Shorthorn bull and cow : Douglas McLean's (Hastings). Hereford bull and cow: F. Short’s (Feilding). Polled Angus bull and cow: Frank Armstrong’s; Jersey hull and cow: S. R. Lancaster’s (Palmerston). Holstein bull: R. Melvin’s. Holstein cow: L .and S. Silver’s. Fat bullock: S. Saunders’ (Manavvatu). Draught stallion : Donald’s Estate. Sheep Dog Trial: P. S. Hav’s William Wallace 1.
