Allen states in connection with the personal appeal recruiting scheme that the issue of four typed of armlets will be quite easily distinguishable. They liad Ijeen examined by the Premier and himself, who appioved in tile first place and adopted by the Recruiting Board. The armlets to be issued will be a* follows: (1) Enlisting and waiting to !>e calbd up ; (2) uanble to comply with required ments; (3) retained in .New Zealand iol - service; (4) soldiers returned from tlio front. ' Mr Allen further states that he intends to make persona] investigation into soldiers’ complaints with a view to locating the flaw in the administration. Evidently his instructions had not been systematically carried out in all cases.
