The barmaid, Miss Foley, rushed to Mrs Jefferson’s ’assistance, and Brown, mistaking her for Mrs Jefferson, fired and killed her. He then committed suicide. Brown was a married man, and it is believed he was infatuated with Mrs Jefferson. Yesterday he enlisted in the Expeditionary Force as a motor transport driver.
