FATALITY AT A MINE.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Whangarei, July 29. In the Iviripaka coal mine on Saturday afternoon, a line of skips by some means was detached from the wire cable, dashed down the incline, and crashed into William Bentnll, a young unmarried man, who was working at the bottom of the incline, overwhelming him in the wreckage. Bentall was unconscious when extricated, and bis head was fearfully cut about and one wrist was broken. He was apparently also injured internally. Alter surgical attendance bad been given Bentnll was brought into M linngarei Hospital in the evening, but died before arrival.
