UNITED STATES AND JAPAN.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. Ottawa, July 20. Baron Yamaoto, of Japan, has arrived at Montreal from the United States. Interviewed he said that it was unnecessary to visit San Francisco since he found that President Roosevelt and Admiral Evans had agreed with him that peace and friendship should exist between Japan and the United States. He considered that the anti-Japanese agitation at San Francisco was a trifling affair, and did not represent the national feeling in the slightest degree. He ridiculed the spy incident, declaring that Japan did not resort to such tactics.
