The Sultan has disclaimed joining with the Ameer iu fomenting an insurrection amongst the follow rs of Islam on the Afghanistan frontier. Calcutta, August 20.
Reports from Peshawar state that the outlook on the Afghan frontier is less disquieting. The tribesmen are daunted by the rapid concentration of the troops. Twelve thousand have already been concentrated in the valley of the Swat River. 7500 at Tochi, 5500 at Rawal Piudi, and 12,000 a. Kob&t and Peshawar. The religious leaders of the Swaus have submitted.
