The jubilee holidays having been amended tho local post and telegraph office will not re-open from 7 to 8 p.m. Messrs Abraham and Williams adver" tise the list of stock for their Palmerston sale and also for their horse sale. Mr W. Crichton, of 12 Grey-street, Wellington, invites tenders for the supply of timber for the Bank of New Zealand, Pahiatua. See advertisement. Messrs Rains and Churchill, tailors and habitmakers, notify that they have removed into the premises lately occupied by Mr S. O’Keefe. The following entries V.ave been received for tho Isaacs Load Race to Woodville and back to-morrowC. Morris, E. E. Lewis, F. Godfrey, R. J. Wallace, J. D. C. Crewe, J. Jackson. It is intended to petition the Pahiatua Borough Council to take under the Public Works Act a right-of-way to give access to the back portion of premises occupied by Messrs Briggs, Ridd, Blair, New Zealand Clothing Co. and others. Says this morning’s New Zealand Times:—The Pahiatua Herald now appears in enlarged form, and compares more than favourably with the majority of the country journals of the colony. We congratulate its energetic proprietor and editor on his enterprise. Mr J. Polglase, of the Pahiatua Nursery, is now prepared to supply settlers with almost every variety of nursery stock, fruit trees, shelter trees, ornamental and hedge plants at prices to suit the times. Orders may be left at Mr A. Stewart’s.
