Mangatainoka.
Our local butchers have had a pair of wheels made for their meat cart. The work was turned out by our local blacksmith, under the supervision of Mr Barrell. who I may safely say has mistaken his calling, for I doubt if it is possible to turn out better work anywhere; one thing worthy of note no putty was needed to complete the joints. I firmly believe they are the best pair of wheels in the Forty-Mile Bush. This is no puff, as I have paid for my knowledge. It appears one cannot leave their homes now without tho hoodlums of the district making raids upon unprotected children. In this instance the hoodlums are known, and I trust will meet their reward. I have often stated that a local constable is much needed down here, or a special constable would do us as a deterrent against these scoundrels.
