REVENUE FROM TAXATION.
THREE YEARS COMPARED. The Abstract of Statistics contains an analysis of the revenue derived by taxation in New Zealand for the past financial year in comparison with that for the two preceding years. The figures are:—
The increase in the Customs revenue in 1925-26 more than accounts for the net increase of £705,079 in the taxation figure for that year as compared with 1924-25. With the exception of totalisator revenue, all other important heads of taxation revenue show decreases.
