LONDON, June 29. The Henley Regalia opened most brilliantly, wind favouring the rowers. There is very little stream owing to the drought. Playford and J. A. Campbell (Australian), representing Jesus College, Cambridge, won their heat in the Wyford Cup in 7min 35sec, beating the record by osec. The Christiania, (Norway) crew won their heat in the Thames Cup in 7ruin 9sec, beating the record by lace. Gollan. a New Zealander, won his heat in the Diamond Sculls at Henley.-" July 2. At Henley, Eyken (a Dutchman) beat Gollan in the sixth heat for the Diamond Sculls. Campbell (Melbourne) and Playford. representing Jesus College, won their heat in the Silver Goblets, beating Magdalen and Oxford. In the Henley regatta finals for the Goblets Jesus College easily defeated Christchurch (Oxford). Eyken beat Bereeford (the bolder) for. the Diamond Sc-ulls. This was a splendid" race. Eyken fouled the booms at the start, but BcresSord, like -a good sportsman, waited for him, Eyken finally winning- by a length and a-half. The Grand Challenge Cup race resulted in Magdalen College (last year’s winners), beating Jesus College. In the race for the Thames Cup, Christiania defeated Corpus C’hristi.
