RED TRIANGLE DAY
APPEAL FOR AN ACTIVE ORGANISATION,
It ia niajounoed that a, special appeal to the publio of Now Zealand is to bo made on behalf of the war work of the Y.M.O.A. in the form of Red Triple Day, and to that end vigorous organisation is belli* commenced immediately. This will inolude the formation of committees at almosi every centre of population. The publio is to be asked to contributo specifically towards the maintenance of the Y.M.C.A. service to New Zealand soldier* and sailors on active service. It is pointed out that this is not an appeal for ordinary association purposes. The Y.if.O.A. is conducting a great national enterprise, and in its war service regards itself the trustee of the parents and friends of our soldiers, rendering ■ the service which, if it wera possible, the parents and friends would gladly perform themselves. Workers under the Red Triangle servo the men not only in a material sense, but also in the way of moral strengthening. From the Chris* tian point of view the work ia conducted on broadest basis, and chaplains of all denominations—Catholics, Protestants, ana Jews —avail themselves of the T.M.C.A t huts at th» front for their religious ser» vices.
