LAWN TENNIS.

TAIERI CLUB. The animal mooting, hold on Thursday evening, was presided over by Mr A. F. Cheyne (retiring president) The annual report stated that the club was in its seventh year. The nation's call had been responded to by all members eligible for service. The present membership consisted of 21 ladies and 25 gentlemen (including those on active service). The balance sheet showed a small credit balance. The following office-bearers were elected: President. Mr A. F. Cheyne; vice-presi-dents, Messrs D. T. Shand and A. P. Quelcli; life member. Mr James Begg; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. W. Muirhead: committee, 12 members. Eight new members were elected. It was resolved to issue honorary members' tickets.

It, was also resolved .that all returned soldiers be admitted free to membership. The opening day was fixed for Saturday, 22nd inst.
