EAST TAIERI CHURCH.
The annual meeting of tho East Taieri Presbyterian Church was held on Thursday evening, Rev. A. W. Kinmont presiding. The annual report and balance sheet were read and adopted. The balance sheet showed tho ordinary income, less balance in hand at commencement of year, to have been £477 3s 7d; mission income, £261 2s 2d; and manse repairs, £173 13s; while tho expenditure under similar heads was shown as £434 14s Id, £261 2s 2d, and £l9B Is 5d respectively. The Sunday schools' collections within tho parish totalled £26 lis 2d. The sum of £7l 4s 3d had been collected for the Trentham Institute. The P.W.M.U. figured in the list at £76 2s, and the Ladies' Guild at £2l. The report showed a record of good progress. The envelope system of collection was proving very successful. A roll of honour which was added to tho report contained somo 46 names, seven of the young men having made the supreme sacrifice. In speaking to the report, the Chairman referred to the success attending the year's efforts, and made special mention of the work of the choir (under the oapable concluctorship of Mrs Munro), of the Sunday schools, the Ladies' Guild, and the P.W M.U. An hour was then spent very pleasantly in social intercourse, the ladies providing supper, and tho choir rendered several musical items.
