LONDON, June 21. Victoria Crosses have been awarded as follow : Captain John Linton, Indian Medical Corps. Captain Linton persisted in his duties under a heavy fire, though shot in the arms and side. Sepoy Chatta Singh, 9th Bhopals, for assisting his wounded and helpless commanding officer. He dressed his wounds and dug a cover under heavy fire, and then remained for five hours shielding the. officer with his body. He brought the officer to safety. MENTIONED IN* DESPATCHES. LONDON, June 21. General Maxwell's despatches mention, in connection with the western (Senussi) operations, the following New Zealanders : —Major Austen, Sergeant M'Cormack, Corporal Lcpper, and Rifleman Nimmo, of the Ist Rifle Brigade. Army Medical Corps : Lieutenant-colonel Fenwick, Majors Magnire and Bowcrbank, Sergeants W. Duncan, H. Jones, and P. Fisher, Privates L. Anderson, P. Munro, T. Wright, J. Biss, and D. Jack. Veterinary' Corps Lieutenant-colonel Young. Army Pay—Lieutenant-colonel Hutchen.
