REWARDS FOR GALLANTRY.
FQH fciSW ZEALANDERS. LONDON, June 21. A Gazette describes the acts for which Distinguished Conduct Medals have been awarded to New Zealanders. Private Cardno (Army Medical Corps)— Gallantry and good work while attached to an infantry battalion. Serjeant Francis (Auckland Infantry)— Good work in bomb throwing and in training bomb throwers. Sergeant Henderson (Otago Infantry)— Consistent good work while in charge of a machine-gun section. Sergeant F. Jenkins (Divisional Train) —■ For a considerable period he performed the duties of an officer, by ability, application, and common sense being equal to all emergencies. Sergeant J. Little (Otago Infantry)— This officer made frequent night reconnaissances to ascertain the effect of his bombs and to discover targets. Sergeant-major F. Moore (Army Medical Corps) —Consistent good work and devotion to duty. Corporal IT. Ebind (Canterbury Infan-try)-—ln charge of scouts and snipers. He also went alone on a risky enterprise, and accounted for several of the enemy. There is a long list of others with a record of splendid achievement and unsurpassed courage.
