LITTLE BELGIUM.

GOD’S GREAT SERVANT. Little Belgium, God’s great servant In the noble cause of right, You’ve been chosen, nor found wanting. Herald of the dawning light. Great in history, now your story, Leading on the nations all To a higher status; standing Bravely, you accept the call. Smallest nation, mighty, glorious. Type of God’s eternal power, Called to witness to all peoples In a grim and ghastly hour. Little nation, humble, gentle, God’s eye saw your inner worth, Kriew you would exalt His banner Nobly up for all the earth. Smallest nation, greatly honoured, What a trust was given to you Who have reached the threshold border Of Divine estate, and true! God has called, and you have answered In the noblest way man can— Given life and all things holy On the altar of His plan. Little nation, tears drop softly, And our hearts are filled with ruth; Life, mere life, is not worth having If it cannot stand for truth. Little State, betrayed and wasted, Radiant with a holy fame Won through martyrdom and torture. Shrouded in the Saviour’s name. Reverently the nations greet you. Swear to honour all your cause— Bear your banner forth in triumph Standard of the Law of Laws. Bow all nations, chant and sing With heartfelt praise, let Heaven ring—--Millennial joy, millennial song, Evolves triumphant over wrong. — R. S. Reynolds.
