GORE COURSING CLUB. GORE, August 19. The Gore Coursing Club commenced its second meeting of the season to-day. The (W-eather was fine and some good t coursing was witnessed. The “crow’s nest” system of judging was adopted by the club and proved satisfactory. Mr H. S. Irving, Invercargill, acted as judge Hie fol.owing are the results: WAIRONGOA CUP. First Round.—Lecaton beat Flitaway, Topnote beat Grand Finale, Puritan beat Gold Speck, Fairlake beat Lucy Hinton, Gipsy Bell beat Kilsythe, Southern Star beat Lass o’ Cowrie, Woollton beat Jeweller, Loch Buie beat Lord Raglan, Summertime beat Bob Surprise, Chief Commander beat M‘Giusky, Wild Wind beat Sabre, Maori Call beat Surprise Packet, Greenwood Fashion a bye. Second Round.—Topnote beat, Leeston, Fairlake beat Puritan, Southern Star beat Kilsythe, Loch Buie beat Woollton. Summertime beat Chief Commander, Wild Wind boat Greenwood Fashion, Maori C all a bye. August 20. The Gore Coursing Club concluded its meeting to-day in beautiful weather. Some excellent coursing was witnessed. Mr H. S. Irving gave entire satisfaction as judge, adopting the “ crow’s nest system. The results wore as follows: — WAIRONGOA CUP. Third Round. —Fairlake beat Topnote; Loch Buio beat Southern Star; Summertime beat Maori Call; Wild Wind, a bye. Fourth Round. —Loch Buie boat Fairlake; Summertime beat Wild Wind. Final. —Mr A. Dunlop’s Loch Buie, by Scottish Chieftain —Peppercorn, beat Mr James Milne’s Summertime, by Bugle Call Gardenia, by 5 to 5i points. OPEN STAKE. First Round. —Dare Devil beat Pride of Erin; Meteor beat King. Final —Mr James Milne’s Meteor, by Starlight—Oilskin, heat Mr W. Broad’s Dare Devil, by Carbine—Booth Ciroora, by 2| to lj points. SUPPLEMENTARY STAKE. First Round.—Puritan boat Surprise Packet; Sabre beat Bob Surprise; Jeweller beat Grand Finale; Kilsyth beat Flitaway. Second Round. —Puritan beat Sabre ; Jeweller beat Kilsyth. Final.—Mr George Miller's Jeweller, by Band of Hope—Jewellery, heat Messrs Kelly and Cox’s Puritan, by Right Bower—Taiputi, by 5 to lj points.
