Melissa was got by Marvellous (imp.) from Mavourneen, by Grandmaster (imp.) from Colleen Bawn, by Kingston (imp.) from Dora, by Ivanhoe from Cressida, by Maconides from Alice Grey, by Rous Emigrant from Gulnare (imp..; Crichton runs back to Alice Grey, the.granddam of the famous Yattondon. He was a first-class performer on the turf, and won several good races .under big weights. Crichton is a beautifully-turned bay horse, showing size and quality, and has a perfect disposition. Mosgiel, who is the first of his stock to race, has won, several good races, including the D.J.C. Provincial Handicap, beating good winners in Gnpon, Martian Maid.
