RENEWAL OF FIGHTING. PEKING, August 18. There has been sharp fighting at Nanking with the rebels. The foreigners took refuge in the warships. It is stated that 5000 men were killed during .the recent fighting at Canton, including 3500 civilians. Tlie Mint was looted of £11,250. August 20. Desperate though unscientific fighting, consisting of ceaseless rifle fire by the Government troops, continues around Nanking. It is maintained in the hope that the rebel defenders will exhaust their ammunition and yield. Unconfirmed reports state that the Northerners have captured the city. , TOKIO, August 18. Chen Chi Mci, General Huang-sing, and Dr Sun Yat Sen have arrived at Yokohama en route to Tokio. August 20. It is stated in Tokio that Dr Sun Y'at Sen will shortly proceed to Canada, and thence to England.
